Nice post fro Eliot van Buskirk - he gets it: Sonific Calls It Quits, Citing Music Licensing Issues | Listening Post from Wired.com.

Thanks Gerd for the "heads up"! My new CD (Overflowing Cup) was released on CD Baby earlier this year in January and now 4 months later I was wondering why it hadn't been added with my Opt-in to Sonific for distribution and potential sync licensing opportunties.
So I called CD Baby and spoke with Kelly who said she'd check it out for me right away. Well, she did and about an hour later I got an email from her about the news of Sonific going Off-line by May 1st.
It's a shame that such a good (dynamic) idea didn't work out. Hope you guys come up with something better or maybe we can network/brainstorm together!
Best regards,
