I can agree with Gerd... data will definitely be the new oil in some way... its on the one hand good to open new ways to deliver data and make life even easier as google did with maps and books. But I think the future is also threaten us in a way of abusing the data.
someday google will collect money for using their "services"... criminals will use the data ... and the values ... the traditional values will nearly disapear through the years!
I can agree that the behavior is changing from a commodity and good society to a experience society (as mentioned on slide 45) but that has been already published by Pine & Gilmore in their book "The experience economy" in 1999 ... I would say that it can be foreseen that people not only want to experience the product they want to TRANSFORM the experience respectively the product ... like myspace amongst others did... that would be the crucial point in the future in my opinion.
"Storytelling is more crucial than ever before" ... this sentence could also be said in the 80´s or or even former ... its not new to surround a product or an experience with a narrative... even disney did that!
"the way we tell stories is changing" why that? caused by new technical opportunities? changing behavior? values? ...
... and what does faster mean? ... the information age we´re living in means real time communication... what is faster than real time?! ... are we on the peak of technological time (?) by means of fast communication.
brands will act a media companies: will every business be a media related company in the future?
cheers
Alex
