Riffing off Kevin Kelly's theme in this short video, I comment on what is this trend means for creators, curators, publishers and consumers. This video is part of a new series of short videos I filmed in Switzerland, this summer (all between 5-10 minutes) - visit my Youtube channel to get updates when they go live.
I started using Tumblr a year ago, and because of its easy use of viral tools and instant-post options via Instapaper etc I have build a pretty good following there, already. I usually post interesting snippets I find via Twitter, Flipboard or my 1000+ RSS feeds (no, I don't actually read all of them), and only the most crucial ones are presented. In other words, this is not a river but a drip-feed:) Check it out at Futureof.biz , on any mobile devices try the new Conduit-powered mobile app.
I just found a nice illustration of this global trend in a presentation by Softbank's Ted Matsumuto, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, a few weeks ago (see all of the presentations, here, and Ted's PDF: Download 02_Ted Matsumoto ). Food for thought.

The CEO of the Switzerland-based Futures Agency also talks about the need for creating networked societies, social engagement and creation of tribes in order to survive online. If you have not tried my free mobile "Media Futurist" applications yet (yes, iPhone and Android) really should give it a try. I am in the process of preparing some very unique content for my apps (videos, audio, images etc) that you will ONLY get on these apps. My mobile phone apps for iPhone and Android were just released a few weeks ago and over 1000 people are already using them - very cool. And they will remain 'free' as well - the only thing you'll have to pay is... attention. As promised, and in-line with my new "Mobile First" mantra, I have been busy (re)-creating and formating exclusive content that you can only get via the iPhone or Android apps, such as various new podcasts and audio-only versions of my presentations, audio/mp3 versions of select chapters of my books, previously unpublished pictures etc. Check out the Flickr screenshots below and go get your app, now. It was a great pleasure to be invited to contribute to the Sao Paulo / Brazil-based Fundacao Dom Cabral's innovative CEO leadership program, led by my colleague and Swiss-Brazilian collaborator and leadership guru Didier Marlier, as a visiting professor. Below is a fairly large and long (95 pages - do not print!!) slideshow with most of the important stuff I presented; needless to say this was not the usual 45-60 minute session but took pretty much the entire afternoon. I was extremely impressed with the organization and their hosts (FDC / Dalton Sandenberg) as well as with the fast and agile minds of the CEOs that attended - we had some very inspiring conversations.
